"Down by the Bay"
“Down by the Bay” In summers before kids, with kids and without kids for decades my hubby and I would have evening picnics with friends on Long Beach in Sag Harbor to watch the sunset. Then best times were when we’d join with families for a big circle overlooking the sea watching the sun go down while the kids played along the shore.
I named this painting “Down by the Bay” because when the kids were little, every time we’d drive down Long Beach RD. We’d break into song: “Down by the bay, where the watermelons grow, Back to my home, I dare not go for if I do, my mother will say, “have you ever seen a pig, wearing a wig, down by the bay…”
“Down by the Bay” 12” x 16” Oil on ampersand gesso board. Option for a framed version is a white or gold Plein Air frame, outside dimensions 17" x 21"
